Communications Guild

The Communications Guild was established 6/20/2004 as a committee with the following charge (summary):

  • Create and distribute the monthly newsletters
  • Maintain and invigorate Internet communications, including the Web page
  • Help coordinate group communications within First E and make them easier to conduct
  • Make sure protocols and opportunities for communication within First E are clearly defined and open to all

Currently, the committee has transitioned into being a guild as the Board has decided that committees not enumerated in the by-laws need to be termed guilds to reduce confusion.  For the complete details about the Communications Guild's official charter, please see the charter.

Consensus Process

The First E Board meetings currently follow a protocol known as the formal consensus process. We decided to follow this protocol to ensure all Board voices would be truly heard while enabling the Board to make decisions and craft policy.  Here is a picture of how the process works:
